Malabsorption Syndromes in Pets
Serum Protein Value: Difficulty absorbing protein or vitamins and low serum protein can cause a reddish discoloration of the haircoat. This can be an symptom of Malabsorbtion or IBD. If your cat has either condition and is showing discoloration of the coat, you should have those levels checked.
